I find it interesting that Apple has used such an "in-your-face" kind of comparative advertising. While being very direct about the idea that Apple is better than Microsoft in every aspect, I feel like no one really knows that MACs and PCs are two completely different things. MACs are supposed to be directed at designers and artists for more creative purposes, but by advertising and comparing itself to PC so much, I think that Apple is downplaying the actual benefits of a MAC. Apple has now promoted MAC as better than PC, but equal in its abilities and uses. As someone who has worked a lot with both MACs and PCs, I can honestly say that I would never have a MAC for everyday usage, but I would HIGHLY prefer a MAC for all of my artistic projects and endeavors.
I think MAC took the wrong route with this "MAC versus PC" advertising campaign.

When posting, please observe the following guidelines:
1. Keep it clean. If you wouldn't want your mother (or a future employer) to see what you've written, it's probably a bad idea to post it. 2. Be respectful of others. While you are encouraged to critique ideas, don't let it get personal. In addition, comments that are sexist, racist or discriminatory are unacceptable and will be removed. 3. Offer insights, not just reposts. While it may be tempting to simply post an interesting print ad, or a link to a cool website, viral video or newspaper article, effective blogging demands that you contribute to the discussion by offering your own thoughts and insights. 4. Be topical. Timing is important. When possible, try to comment on issues and topics we are discussing in this week's class, or those that we covered in the week just past.

These ads are such a great format... anything that Microsoft do, Apple can, and rightly, throw it back in their face!
