What the Heck Is This?
You've found ConsumerMarketing.ca, the blog for students enrolled in Marketing Communications at the Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, in Canada's capital city, Ottawa.
Before you can post to this blog, you must be registered as a contributor. Simply send your Gmail address to Prof. Ritchie via ConnectMail, and you will be sent an invitation to join the blog.
When posting, please observe the following guidelines:
1. Keep it clean. If you wouldn't want your mother (or a future employer) to see what you've written, it's probably a bad idea to post it.
2. Be respectful of others. While you are encouraged to critique ideas, don't let it get personal. In addition, comments that are sexist, racist or discriminatory are unacceptable and will be removed.
3. Offer insights, not just reposts. While it may be tempting to simply post an interesting print ad, or a link to a cool website, viral video or newspaper article, effective blogging demands that you contribute to the discussion by offering your own thoughts and insights.
4. Be topical. Timing is important. When possible, try to comment on issues and topics we are discussing in this week's class, or those that we covered in the week just past.
